Course Overview:
Philip Crosby, one of the most influential and authoritative specialists in issues of management told: "Every country has its own culture, but culture of business is the same everywhere." However, was he right? History knows examples when multimillion contracts broke, and promising negotiations are broken off. It often happened because of some unfortunate mistake caused by ignorance or lack of knowledge about cultural differences.
How to avoid such mistakes and how to design the effective strategy for cooperation with prospective partners taking into consideration their cultural characteristics are what students learn in the Cross-Cultural Business Behavior course.
Goal:
Create a deep understanding of cultural awareness in order to develop international leaders able to work effectively within and cross cultures.
Objectives:
At this course’s conclusion, students should be able to:
- Define the impact of culture on international business relationships.
- Create a Culture Map that allows understanding how culture affects the business behavior of your international partners (and, which is most important, your own business behavior).
